Liverpool Dyslexia Association: the Saturday Workshop Experience
LDA, working with a specialist teacher & a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) set up the Saturday Working Experience at Anfield Comprehensive School. The project provides a safe and fun learning environment for parents & children to work together to understand the nature of dyslexic difficulties, to explore routes through the condition and to develop strategies for learning to help reduce stress & tension at home.
The project is a fusion of specialist teaching experience with peer parental support from experienced volunteers and aims to change the dynamics of learning and support in the home & the school. To further develop this work 'Positive About Dyselxia, Liverpool' has been set up.
