Update from EPMN Directors
Every Parent Matters Network - UPDATE February 2011
In these times of uncertainty we know how difficult and frustrating things are at the moment. Therefore we thought we’d like to send you this update to let you know that EPMN is still here and continuing to seek opportunities to support the network and bring together all those organisations supporting parents and families in Merseyside.
We all want flourishing and sustainable parenting programmes across Merseyside and EPMN is using every opportunity to promote the value and good work of the network and our members.
So, what have we been up to?
EPMN Directors meet regularly and have met twice this year. We are continuing to make plans for future activities on behalf of the network and its members.
In partnership with Merseyside Expanding Horizons, Paul Barnard, our coordinator has been actively involved in the work of the European Families Project. This project will culminate in a Europe-wide conference in Lithuania in July 2011. For more details please see the website: www.family-learning.eu
The ‘Both Parents Matter’ Conference held in November 2010 (in collaboration with Families Need Fathers and Liverpool City Council) was supported by a wide range of community organisations. Feedback was very positive and demonstrated the need for similar activities in the future.
We are planning a series of neighbourhood events during the summer term, based on the successful EPMN model of networking and information sharing. We expect the usual great turnout and lots of interest and will be contacting you so you can book your place and be represented on the day.
In his role as EPMN Coordinator Paul is actively supporting the development of the Families and Schools Together Programme (FAST) in Liverpool.
Paul also continues to promote and represent EPMN interests on a number of partnerships and forums.
We want you to know we are still here for you and send our very best wishes to all our friends and colleagues who have contributed to the network and look forward to working with you when the picture for organisations and people becomes clearer.
We’re always interested to hear from you. Please contact Paul with any feedback, comments or queries.
Very best wishes, Hilay Doody and Marjorie Stirzaker, Directors EPMN
