We aim to encourage support between families who have children with any type of disability or additional need. We have information on a network of over 1,000 national parent support groups and information about local groups at our regional office. We provide information on any disability including rare disorders and genetic diseases and this information is also available on our website at http://www.cafamily.org.uk/ . In cases where no support group exists, Contact a Family can put families in touch with other families either via our helpline or our Making Contact website http://www.makingcontact.org/ . We have a wide range of free factsheets on topics relevant to families, e.g. benefits, education and helpful organisations. We send out a free newsletter three times a year, organise workshops on topics of interest to parents and run family events.
