Resettlement and Aftercare Provision
RAP will be offered to young people in the YOT who are:
Aged between 10 – 18 years, entering custody/leaving custody, on a DTOLicence. Remand or bail support.On a community sentence.
RAP will be offered to young people in the YOT who have been assessed as having:
significant substance misuse needs, tier 3
significant mental health needs and/or dual
Diagnosis, tier 3.
RAP can be offered because of a young person’s assessed level of vulnerability (combined with other triggers). Tier 2 interventions in custody (combined with identified high risks including):
Accommodation needs,ETE needs,Family/carer/peer group needs.
RAP will offer young people release preparation,up to 25 hours per week,voluntary involvement – the young person chooses to be involved,one to one support through custody and after,
crisis support,someone to talk to,someone to listen to,family support.
RAP can also offer each young person an opportunity to take part in outdoor pursuits, sport, leisure activities,training programmes, music, media,arts and employment (voluntary and paid).
RAP also provides a holistic approach. Service provision not limited by duration of Licence or order. Core support and provision for up to 6 months beyond end of licence or order.
